How One Simple Habit Can Change Your Life – Modern Health Monk Success Story Shannon

Shannon Upgraded Success

Sometimes, the simplest habits produce the biggest results in life – a concept I talk about in my book Master The Day.

Some months back, a student joined a program of mine and instantly was showing her A-game.

She was engaging, taking time to respond to my comments and questions, sent me emails asking advice on breaking through plateaus and how to apply certain principles, but most of all, she did one thing.

She took action.

Today, I want to share with you Shannon’s story of how she and her husband collectively lost almost 50 pounds, and she got to her lowest weight in TEN YEARS — her pre-pregnancy weight.

Enter Shannon: The Power of One Tiny Habit (17 Min)

I want you to take a few minutes to watch this interview with Shannon, because I want to PROVE that you can pick a few simple habits, and get the results you want.

Notice that Shannon didn’t mention anything about a massive struggle.

She picked the right habits, stayed consistent, and was patient.

Some Other Key Points Here:

I want to specifically draw your attention to two things.

1. How quickly Shannon saw results.

2. Reaching her pre-pregnancy weight she hadn’t seen in TEN YEARS.

Yes, it’s possible to reach that pre-pregnancy weight.

Can everyone do it? I have no clue. I can’t predict anyone’s results – but if this is a story, a powerful narrative you’ve been telling yourself, then hopefully this helps bust it.

No matter how discouraged you’ve been, I wanted to share Shannon’s story to not only highlight a student success here, but illustrate the power of small things (which is why I wrote the book on the subject, haha).

What’s stopping you?

Yes, it’s confusing.

Yes, it’s frustrating and stressful.

Yes, sometimes it gets hard.

But if you’ve given up trying because you feel like you’re going to fail (yet again) anyway, or because it’s too much effort, or because it’s too unclear what to do next, this is a kick in the pants to pick one simple habit, go with it, and track your results.

Anyone can do that, right?

Friday, we’ll talk about some of the other habits beneath the surface that made Shannon so successful, and we’ll dive deep into how you can apply these insights to your own life.

  1. Hey Alex, I’ve just completed week 1. Fistful of protein added to every meal, no more boxed foods, no fast food, 100+ oz of water a day, fresh vegetables as my primary food and then protein, no starches except whole wheat bread for a quick lunch once or twice. I need your advice though. My family is having a big family reunion this weekend and we will be camping. I’m very nervous about staying on my health kick when I’ll be out of my comfort zone. Camping food= hamburgers, hot dogs. I am already planning to not eat the buns and focus on any vegetables we may be able to keep fresh for the 3 days. Any advise? I could really use it.
