You Can’t Run Away From Yourself – Some Practical Thoughts on Dealing With Life’s Fears
There’s something that many of us do, that prevents us from losing the weight we want, having the relationships we want, being happy, and in general, being the kind of person we want.
It’s easy when we step in front of the mirror each morning to feel that pang of “ugh,” I don’t like what I see.
It’s easy to put off a difficult conversation that needs to be had.
It’s easy to put off a problem in life when you know you can deal with it tomorrow.
But as Jung said:
“One does not become enlightened by imagining figures of light, but by making the darkness conscious.”
What if it’s dealing more with the shadow, the darkness, that produces happiness more than dealing with the light?
