What Fitness Does For Your Vajayjay
Let’s face it. There’s a lot of money, time, and advertising geared towards helping men figure out why they can’t get it up.
Recently, I made a video called “What Fitness Does for Your Weiner”, but in today’s blog, we’re going to be talking about the ladies in the audience.
I bet you ladies thought you’d get off the hook here. We got to help out the men who couldn’t get it up. But today, we are going to help the ladies.
In case you were wondering, getting fitter can definitely help you get more aroused more easily and maybe have an orgasm easier.
What Fitness Really Does For Your Hoo-Ha
It All Started With an Interesting Study
There was an interesting study done on 47 women who took antidepressants. These women, who reported that they had antidepressant-related sexual arousal problems, participated in three sessions where they would watch an erotic film while the researchers actually recorded their genital arousal.
In two of the sessions, a group of women exercised for 20 minutes prior to watching an erotic film. In the other group (who did not do any exercise prior to watching the film), the no-exercise group, they showed a lot less genital response to the arousing film.[1]
What happens when a kiwi gets naughty? This ^ is what.
Ultimately, the researchers found that exercise before the sexual stimuli (which is the erotic video) actually increased genital arousal in both of these groups. If your husband or boyfriend isn’t doing it for you, maybe you should go for a jog before?
You didn’t hear it from me…
Or how about a romantic dinner?
In another study, researchers found that women who drank a glass of red wine daily reported higher levels of sexual desire and vaginal lubrication, compared with those who sipped any kind of alcohol only occasionally or those who didn’t drink at all. [2]
Now, this was in the Journal of Sexual Medicine. But like all things with alcohol, a glass or two of wine is fine. Getting bombed usually results in bad things—unless you’re into weird and bad things.
A third study found that blood flow in fitter, healthier women was heavier overall when they got aroused. With the greater blood flow, the arousal response was much stronger.
We could kind of cross compare this with men – if they already have impaired circulation, heart disease, and problems with cardiovascular health, generally speaking, the strength of the erection is not going to be quite as strong, and that makes everybody sad.
Finally, the added benefit of getting fitter and being healthier is that it’s probably a lot easier for you to get aroused if you look in the mirror and you’re like, “Damn. That booty, though.”
Or, that butternut squash booty.
To be honest, if you’re a lady, you’re probably using different words, but the feeling in general is the same. If you feel self-confident, it’s probably a lot easier to trust yourself, relax, get turned on and go with the flow.

Hehe… see what I just did there?

Hi there – just listened to your episode on the Superhuman podcast (which I just found last night – you were the first episode I listened to on that cast… good stuff!). Thought I would check out your blog… I’m intrigued by the mini-habits idea and I really like your approach toward rewriting the “story” that’s in our heads and focusing more on mastering the day instead of thinking so much about the seemingly insurmountable goals. I really think this approach will help me and I’ve started implementing it already. Anyhoo, happened upon this blog post, and I’ve gotta agree – I feel much more comfortable in the bedroom when I feel good about my body. I’m in a place of not feeling good about my body and have been for the past five or so years. I’ve definitely noticed a change in the bedroom environment because of it. I think it’s interesting that exercise prior to stimulation can cause an increase in stimulation, and what’s more, I really think there is a connection between being confident and feeling good about yourself and your desire to get freaky between the sheets. Thanks for the good content and you’ve gained a new follower. Be well!
Hey Shannon,
Glad to have you here – want to shoot me an email and I can help more? And yes, 100% agree with you regarding the self confidence thing, that is for sure.
